Endowed gifts may be designated for specific purposes within one of the university's schools or departments. Listed below are some of the ways in which endowed gifts, through their designation, can combine your priorities with our needs to benefit The Catholic University of America:

Undergraduate Scholarships
A scholarship is institutional money awarded to a student in the form of a grant based on merit. Typically utilized to cover tuition and related expenses, scholarships remain a top fundraising priority and help to provide deserving students with a life-changing opportunity they may not otherwise be able to afford. A minimum of $50,000.00 in donations is required to endow an undergraduate scholarship fund.

Graduate Scholarships/Fellowships
Financial assistance can be provided to graduate students in various forms, including tuition coverage, stipends for living expenses, or compensation for services such as research or teaching. They decrease student dependence on loans and enable CUA to attract the most talented students through competitive financial aid packages. A minimum of $50,000.00 in contributions is required to establish an endowed graduate scholarship or fellowship.

Endowed Professorships
Proffesorships provide support to faculty at all levels, from assistant professors to chairs. Our faculty members are foundational elements in our pursuit of academic excellence, precious resources from whom our students benefit richly. Endowed professorships enable CUA to recruit, retain, and promote the nation's best teacher-scholars, in keeping with our mission as the national university of the Catholic Church in the United States. A minimum of $3 million in contributions is required to establish an endowed chair, while other endowed professorships may be established for lesser amounts.

Endowed Library Collections
An endowed library fund enables CUA to update and improve its resources and information services, In today's dynamic, ever-changing world, endowed collections help CUA to keep its library resources on pace with the constantly evolving teaching and research needs of our constituencies. A minimum of $50,000.00 in donations is required to endow a library fund.

Capital Projects
A capital campaign is an intensive fundraising endeavor, typically of a defined purpose and duration, designed to facilitate identified projects or objectives through the attainment of predetermined financial goals. Projects often include construction, renovation, or refurbishment of campus facilities, which improve our environment and enhance the CUA experience for our community. The minimum necessary to endow a capital improvement fund is dependent upon the particular campaign or project involved, and is addressed on a case by case basis.

Memorial Funds
Gifts to CUA can be made to honor or memorialize a special person. Such gifts are typically added to our general scholarship fund, which greatly benefits the university in attracting students. Alternatively, memorial funds can be designated for a more specific purpose an din that manner may be endowed if the donations meet the applicable minimum of $50,000.00.
