Following his graduation from CUA, Christopher G. Rizzo, B.A. 1997, worked in the career center of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2000, he moved to Lansing Mich., to study law at The Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where Chris earned his Juris Doctor degree and Certificate in International Law.
After earning his J.D., Chris married his "CUA Sweetheart," Karen (Wilson) B.S.N. 1997, in June 2001. Around this time Chris had the privilege of working at both the law firms of Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, PC, Woodbridge, N.J., and Anslow & Jaclin, Freehold, N.J.
Following the birth of his first daughter, Chris decided to focus his law career on his original love — NAFTA immigration — in 2004, he opened NAFTA Law Firm, his own immigration law practice. His company's Web site, www.naftalawfirm.com, is dedicated to providing immigration services for Canadian citizens and Canadian landed immigrants. As an attorney, Christopher received many requests from Canadian citizens and prominent U.S. corporations seeking assistance in obtaining immigration benefits for Canadians.
Compared to other specializing or non-specializing (general) U.S. immigration lawyers, there are very few NAFTA immigration lawyers practicing in the United States. A NAFTA immigration lawyer is a highly specialized immigration lawyer who concentrates on U.S. immigration status affected by the North American Free Trade Agreement, however, they will also assist many nonimmigrant and immigrant visas.
Chris and Karen reside in suburban New Jersey with their two daughters. Karen is a well-respected Certified School Nurse in her community. She has worked as the lead school nurse at CPC High Point Schools in Morganville, N.J. since 2003. The school provides behavioral and multiple disabled services for students, ages 5 to 21 years, who are eligible for special education services.
