2014 Hall of Fame Induction



ALUMNI GRANT DEADLINE FOR REGULAR ADMISSION
CUA alumni may nominate entering freshmen or transfer students for a $1,000 alumni award renewable for up to four years. Completed Alumni Grant Recommendation Forms must be submitted with the Undergraduate Application for Admission by Feb. 15. Click here for the form. REUNIONS 2014: FOURS AND NINES
If your class year ends in a 4 or 9, your reunion is in October! Reunion committee volunteers are needed to help plan and promote your class reunion. If you are interested in being on your reunion committee, please contact Mike Minetti at minetti@cua.edu. Homecoming and Reunions Weekend will take place Oct. 17-19, 2014.

BASKETBALL GAMEBREAK: CUA VS. MORAVIAN -- JAN. 18
Cheer on the Cardinals men's and women's basketball teams, Saturday, Jan. 18, 4 p.m., at the Raymond A. DuFour Athletic Center. Then, between the men's and women's games, enjoy a gathering in the Hall of Fame area on the DuFour Center's second floor. For more information and to register, click here.

MLK DAY OF SERVICE -- JAN. 20
A day ON not a day OFF! All faculty, staff, students, and alumni are invited to a day of service. CUA will be preparing food and crafts, painting murals, and beautifying local schools (indoor and outdoor, weather permitting). Since some sites are outdoors, please come dressed warmly! Meet in the Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center, Great Room, at 8:30 a.m., on Monday, Jan. 20. For more information, click here.

FAMILY BINGO -- JAN. 25
Saturday, Jan. 25, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the Food Court of the Pryzbyla Center. $10 for adults, $7 for children ages 5 through 12 and $4 for children 4 and under. CAREER TRANSITIONS PANEL -- FEB. 12
Join fellow D.C. area alumni for a career panel and discussion, Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 7 to 9 p.m., in Caldwell Hall, Auditorium. The cost is $15 per person for wine, beer, and heavy hors d'oeuvres. For more information and to register, click here.

ALUMNI RECEPTION AND PERFORMANCE OF GODSPELL -- FEB. 28
Alumni, family, and friends are invited to campus to enjoy the popular 1971 musical based on the Gospel of St. Matthew, Godspell. Performed in intimate Ward Music Hall at 7:30 p.m., this performance will sell out quickly! An alumni reception will precede the performance at 6 p.m. Bring your family! LAW PROFESSOR ARGUES BEFORE SUPREME COURT
Nearly six years of pro bono legal work boiled down to a single critical hour for Catholic University law school Professor Mark Rienzi as he argued McCullen v. Coakley before the nine justices of the United States Supreme Court on January 15th.To read more, click here.

PROVOST VISITS ISRAEL
James Brennan, provost of The Catholic University of America, spent a week in Israel as a member of a delegation of nine provosts from American universities. Brennan visited Tel Aviv and Jerusalem from Jan. 5 to 11 with Project Interchange, an educational institute of the American Jewish Committee that fosters connections between opinion leaders and policy makers with counterparts in Israel. CUA LIBRARIES' NEWEST BRANCH
The Architecture and Planning Library, located on the lower level of the Edward M. Crough Center for Architectural Studies, houses a significant collection of books on architects and the building environment.
