REUNIONS 2014: FOURS AND NINES
If your class year ends in a 4 or 9, next year is your reunion year! Reunion committee volunteers are needed to help plan and promote your class reunion. PHILADELPHIA MASS AND BRUNCH

Gather for Mass with fellow Philadelphia area alumni, celebrated by Rev. William J. Byron, S.J., former CUA President, on Sunday, Nov. 17, at the chapel of St. Joseph's Preparatory School. BOSTON ALUMNI CHRISTMAS PARTY
-- DEC. 3

Kick off the holiday season with the CUA Boston Alumni Chapter at the annual Christmas party at Granary Tavern on Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. The cost is $25 per person and includes a three-hour open bar and heavy hors d'oeuvres. Vice President for University Relations and Chief of Staff Frank Persico, B.A. 1974, M.A. 1976, will be in attendance to wish alumni and their guests a merry Christmas and to update everyone on the latest news at CUA. NEW YORK ALUMNI CHRISTMAS PARTY -- DEC. 5
Join fellow CUA New York area alumni for a New York Alumni Christmas Party, Thursday, Dec. 5, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., at Patrick Conway's Public House. The cost is $30 per person for three-hour open bar and party buffet in a private room. For more information and to register, click here.

D.C. "CU BEFORE CHRISTMAS" -- DEC. 12

ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY AND LUNCHEON -- FEB. 1
All alumni are invited to join the Catholic University Alumni Association and the Department of Athletics for the Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Luncheon on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at noon in the Edward J. HELLO FROM NEW ATHLETICS DIRECTOR, SEAN SULLIVAN
"I have long held Catholic University in high regard since my years in the Capital Athletic Conference. Its high level of accomplishment in academics and athletic achievement as well as its commitment to service made it an unquestionable choice when I was presented the opportunity," said Sean Sullivan, associate vice president and director of athletics. Originally from the Boston area, Sean grew up outside of San Francisco. He spent seven years in Pennsylvania at York College before taking his most recent post as director of athletics at Clark University in Mass. "I look forward to seeing many alumni, their family, and friends at sporting and campus events throughout the rest of the school year. If I can be of assistance to any alum, please feel free to reach out."

DID YOU KNOW THESE PRIEST ALUMS?
Katie Lee, the communications director for the public affairs office, is working on a story for the alumni magazine about canonization and several CUA alumni who are on the road to sainthood. The article will feature Rev. Theodore Daniel Foley, C.P.; Rev. Emil Kapaun; and Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, who taught at the University as a professor of philosophy and theology for 24 years until 1950. If you knew or studied with any of these alums or have photos of them taken on campus, please contact Katie at leect@cua.edu or 202-319-6975. She's available for interviews by phone, or in person, if you live in the D.C. metro area. The deadline for interviews is late December, so please contact her at your earliest possible convenience.

Timmy Le, B.S. 2013, learned about culture within medicine while volunteering in Vietnam's National Acupuncture Hospital's pediatric cerebral palsy unit. To learn more, click here.

PROFESSOR INDUCTED INTO AMERICAN ACADEMY OF NURSING
Janice Agazio, M.S.N. 1986, Ph.D. 1995, associate professor in the School of Nursing at The Catholic University of America, was inducted into the American Academy of Nursing on Oct. 19. Agazio has been teaching at the University since 2004. To read more, click here.

NEW LEADER OF USCCB IS CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY TRUSTEE
At their meeting in Baltimore today, the Catholic bishops of the United States elected Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz to lead their conference. Archbishop Kurtz has been a member of The Catholic University of America's Board of Trustees since 2010 and serves on its finance committee. To read more, click here.

$1.5 MILLION FOR PRINCIPLED ENTREPRENEURSHIP STUDIES
The Catholic University of America has received a commitment of $1 million from the Charles Koch Foundation and $500,000 from the Busch Family Foundation to support research into the role principled entrepreneurship can and should play in improving society's well-being. To learn more, click here.
