CROUGH CENTER TO BE LEED CERTIFIED BY STUDENTS
The Catholic University campus has become a living laboratory for students in a new course offered by the architecture and planning school this year. Students from CUA's LEED Lab met last week with University administrators and staff to review the final credits they need to earn LEED Existing Buildings Operations and Maintenance (EB:O&M) certification for the Edward M. Crough Center for Architectural Studies. The Crough Center will be the first building in the nation to be LEED EB:O&M certified by students. To read more, click here.
WALTER DIRECTS SCENES FROM BEAUMARCHAIS' "FIGARO" TRILOGY AS FAREWELL
On Sunday, April 28, 2:30 p.m., in Ward Recital Hall, the Opera Workshop class of the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music performs 17 scenes from operas inspired by the three 18th-century plays by Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais. Conceived and directed by Professor Elaine Walter, this is her last public Scenes program before retiring from the full-time faculty at the end of this academic year. JOHANNES QUASTEN MEDAL PRESENTED TO REV. BRIAN E. DALY, S.J.
The School of Theology and Religious Studies is pleased to announce that this year's prestigious Johannes Quasten Medal of Excellence in Scholarship and Leadership in Theology and Religious Studies Award will go to Rev. Brian E. Daly, S.J. He is the J. Catherine F. Huisking Professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.
