CUA TRAVEL: TRIP TO IRELAND 2012

Planning to find a new job this summer or get ready for a job search come fall? Even if you're not, it's probably a great time to have your résumé reviewed, get some career consulting, or practice interview techniques. CUA's Office of Career Services extends most of the services it provides to students to CUA alumni. All you need to do is to call their office Monday - Friday at 202-319-5623 to make an appointment to take advantage of this valuable, free service.

The Northern California Chapter invites you to historic Old Mission Dolores, San Francisco for a Mass, tour and lunch on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012. Mission San Francisco de Asis, affectionately known as Mission Dolores, was established under the direction of Franciscan Friars in 1776. NEW DEAN OF THE SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY AND RELIGIOUS STUDIES
Following a nationwide search, John Garvey, President of The Catholic University of America, has appointed Very Rev. Mark Morozowich, M.A. 1989, associate professor, as dean of the School of Theology and Religious Studies, effective July 1, 2012. To read the full article, click here.

POLITICS PROFESSOR HONORED IN CHINA
Claes Ryn, professor of politics, was named an honorary professor during a ceremony at Beijing Normal University in China last month. At the ceremony, Ryn helped launch a new humanities institute at the Chinese university. To read the full article, click here.

FRANNY MURRAY TURNS 90



Franny Murray, Class of 1950, one of CUA's most beloved people, turned 90 on Saturday, July 7. A member of CUA's Athletics Hall of Fame, Murray has been a member of the University community since the 1940s when he was a student. To read the full article on Franny, click here.

SCHOOL OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE RECEIVES GRANT
The School of Library and Information Science at CUA has received a $498,741 Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The school will use the grant to educate and support students in the Cultural Heritage Information Management concentration in its master's degree program. To read the full story, click here.
