Congratulations class of 2011!
On Saturday, May 14, The Catholic University of America officially welcomed the graduates of the Class of 2011 into our family of more than 83,000 alumni living all around the world. Congratulations, graduates, and welcome to the CUA Alumni Association!

CUA on the road: New president to visit alums in california

John Garvey, inaugurated in January as the 15th president of CUA, will visit Los Angeles, Calif., on June 14, and San Francisco, Calif., on June 16, to meet West Coast alums. The LA gathering will be held at Shutters on the Beach Hotel in Santa Monica, Calif., from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. On June 16, President Garvey will greet alums in San Francisco at Il Fornaio Restaurant in Levi Plaza. Alumni in Entertainment Industry Reception, New York, N.y.

Join deans Lawrence Poos from the School of Arts and Sciences and Grayson Wagstaff from the Benjamin T. Alumni Spotlight



Michael Lonergan, B.A. 1988,
was recently named head
coach for men's basketball at
The George Washington
University. Lonergan brings
to GW 18 years as a college
head coach, with an overall
record of 377-156, 15 winning
seasons, and 13 NCAA
tournament victories.

Cardinal fans know him as the
coach who led CUA's men's
basketball team to the 2001
Division III National
Championship, the same year
he was named the Division III
consensus National Coach
of the Year. Lonergan was
head coach at CUA from
1992 to 2004, with an
overall record of 251-88.
